The facility houses an arena with the capacity to seat 492 people, a conference centre and an indoor walking track, and provides the necessary amenities to enable the town to host significant conferences, trade shows and other events.
The Town of St. Anthony plays a vital role as the major service centre to the surrounding communities on the Northern Peninsula.. St. Anthony provides shopping, professional services, post-secondary educational institutions, entertainment, health and medical services to the region. The Polar Centre provides a significant asset for the business community of the region.
Recreation is an important part of people’s lives and facilities like the Polar Centre will help to recruit and retain young professionals in rural areas. This facility ties in with government’s wellness initiative and is an asset for the Town of St. Anthony.
Located behind Hotel North, this park features a covered gazebo that overlooks the harbour. Walk the winding Bottom Brook Trail (a system of well-groomed trails) which follows the harbour’s edge for a beautiful waterside view.
This outdoor children’s playground is located beside the St. Anthony Olympia on West Street. The playground has a swing set, slides, monkey bars, see saw, and a seating bench.

Located at the end of West Street, this incredible oceanside nature park is the central outdoor meeting place for St. Anthony residents and tourists. View majestic icebergs as they drift past the coast. Watch for whales breeching the waves and marvel at the many different species of seabirds. Take a brief stroll to the lighthouse or to one of the many close-by lookouts (featuring awesome views of cliffs and oceanscapes).
Friendship Nature Park is a small park located on West Street (after Woodward Motors). Take a seat, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at this quaint and scenic spot.
This park is located off of West Street, on Strathcona Park Lane. The park has swings, a slide, and a grassy picnic area. The Grenfell Dock is nearby and acts as a drop-off point for tourists when cruise ships and personal yachts come into town.
The swimming pool (located behind the St. Anthony Olympia) operates from June thru September. Join us for family swim, lap swimming and aqua aerobics.
Swim lessons are offered for all age groups.
The Health Club is located at College of the North Atlantic campus. Take advantage of modern equipment and support from other health club members.
All membership fees contribute towards maintenance and improvement of the health club.
The club has an array of treadmills, stairmasters, free-weights & Nautilus equipment.
To find the health-club, enter the main doors of the campus building – and continue straight-forward. The health club is located at the very end of the hallway (on the left-hand side) – just before the rear-exit of the building.
There is a drop-off box for membership fees located at the club. Fill out the form and you will be contacted to obtain official membership access.
