Cost Of Living

The CPI or cost – of – living index is a measurement goal that measures the amount consumers need to spend to reach a certain standard of living (US Department of Labour-Bureau of Labor Statistics). The cost of living in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador is relatively low in comparison with the rest of the provinces in Canada, the US and European countries. The below table demonstrates the monthly cost of food in some other Canadian Atlantic Provinces in comparison to Newfoundland and Labrador. This chart supports the idea that Newfoundland and Labrador’s cost-of-living is lower than other provinces in Canada.
